My passion for documentary wedding and family photography grew from my love of capturing stories as they unfold. No unnecessary interruptions, just observing interactions and noticing little details. I want to showcase the real you in my photographs, and make you feel the love and energy that existed in that moment. I want to show you that the ordinary is extraordinary.

Artistic storytelling.
I would describe my photography style as artistic, authentic and nostalgic. I capture the beauty of the everyday and the "once-in-a-lifetime" with equal joy and creative energy. I have a passion for people and their stories, which is visually translated to my unique perspective in the photographs I take.
I do more than photograph pretty pictures. I capture stories that make you feel.

More than just the photographs. They come with a person.
When booking a wedding or family photographer, you naturally expect beautiful photos as a result. But what you might not have thought of is that the photos come with the photographer (um, okay?). This is actually a very important element of the full photoshoot experience, and is why I always offer the opportunity for a chat before booking me.

I am an outgoing introvert. Generally enthusiastic during a shoot, but with a calm nature. I love interacting with guests at weddings, and playing with kids during family shoots. As Charl put it, "Carmen is amazing with children. We did a toddler shoot and it was more of a toddler entertainment morning than a photoshoot." I aim to feel more like a friend than just someone you hired to take your photos.
